For 32 years, Blue Door Shelters has been an integral part of our community, providing emergency shelter for the homeless of York Region. As a non-profit organization serving some 1,500 people each year, comprising families, men and youth, the agency reaches out to the community for donations and other assistance. Frontline York Region social service workers were recognized for their dedicated efforts at the second annual Bhayana Family Foundation Awards in Vaughan Friday. Three outstanding individuals and one team from United Way York Region partner agencies were honoured at Vaughan City Hall. The foundation identifies and awards social service workers for their dedication, innovation and creativity, leadership, and team achievement.
