Leeder Place Family Shelter is the only family shelter in York Region. This LEED certified building has 15 rooms and a capacity of 60 individuals. We provided shelter and support to over 108 families and 453 individuals at Leeder Place in 2016.

“The numbers that are reported here are unique individuals served at each shelter.  However, we see larger numbers of homeless individuals at each shelter because people experience chronic homelessness due to factors such as a lack of affordable housing in our Region.  This means that some of the individuals we serve have no choice but to return to our shelters due to systemic barriers.”
